BEIJING, July 17 (Xinhua) -- China's per capita disposable income stood at 19,672 yuan (about 2,758 U.S. dollars) in the first half of 2023, up 6.5 percent year on year in nominal terms, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.
After deducting price factors, per capita disposable income rose 5.8 percent from the previous year.
Separately, urban per capita disposable income came in at 26,357 yuan, up 5.4 percent in nominal terms and 4.7 percent in real terms, while per capita income in rural areas stood at 10,551 yuan, up 7.8 percent in nominal terms and 7.2 percent in real terms.
Monday's data also showed that China's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 5.5 percent year on year in the first half of the year.
