China is expected to see 2.91 billion travelers during the upcoming 40-day travel rush around China's Spring Festival holiday, a rise of 3.6 percent from a year earlier, according to sources with the National Development and Reform Commission.
It is estimated that some 332 million railway trips will be made during the travel rush, an increase of 12.7 percent year on year. The number of air travelers is expected to rise 11 percent year on year to 54.55 million. The busy period will last from Jan. 24 to Mar. 3 in 2016.
