China’ economic growth hits 28-year low at 6.6 percent in 2018 amid weakening domestic demand and US-China trade disputes.

Fourth-quarter gross domestic production (GDP) grows at the slowest pace since the global financial crisis, easing to 6.4 percent from 6.5 percent in the third quarter, data from the National Bureau of Statistics ( NBS) showed on Monday.

Signs of cooling economy are stroking worries about risks to the world economy and weighing on profits for firms ranging from Apple to big carmakers.

Officials from NBS said that China-US trade conflicts indeed have been impacting on the country’s economy in a limited way, and they are confident the country’s economy will operate at a reasonable zone in 2019.
