Four Chinese free trade zones (FTZ) have registered 78 enterprises that participate in the pilot operation of parallel imports of cars by now, according to the official websites of China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on Tuesday.
In a breakdown, 17 pilot parallel car importers were registered in Shanghai FTZ, 14 were registered in Guangdong FTZ, 35 were registered in Tianjin FTZ, and 12 were registered in Fujian FTZ. Meanwhile, the pilot enterprises have applied automatic import permits for 1,598 units of parallel imported cars from the ministry.
According to the MOC, it will boost the construction of a standardized guarantee system for parallel imported car sales and after-sale services, to offer supervisors convenience. It will also join hands with relevant departments to formulate new regulations on car sales to promote fair competition and adjust the policy system for parallel imports of cars.
