Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Guangdong Province announced on Wednesday this year's guiding benchmark for salary growth rate of enterprises is 8.5 percent and the upper limit is 12.5 percent.
The minimum growth rate limit could be zero or below. According to the lately released guidance, enterprises with average industrial business performance can raise the wage they paid by around 8.5 percent; those with greater business benefit and low salary could raise their payment by no more than 12.5 percent; and those with poor business performance or suffered losses may keep or lower their payment as long as agreed by the labor unions or representatives of employees.
The guiding benchmark for salary growth rate of enterprises is released and adjusted annually. The figure for 2014 was nine percent, 0.5 percentage points higher than this year's.
