Beijing Public Transportation Group announced on Sunday to buy 2,700 units of green energy public transport vehicles in 2016, in which 81 percent will be electric vehicles, the Beijing Daily reported on Monday.
Among the 2,000 new public transport vehicles, 210 units will be dual-power-source electric vehicles, 2,180 units will be pure electric vehicles, and 310 units will be diesel vehicles meeting Euro IV emission standards.
The company bought 2,306 environmental-protection public transport vehicles in 2015, in which 1,052 units were pure electric vehicles. Besides, Beijing will put 200 units of battery swap cabs into local taxi market in the first quarter of 2016. These cabs are produced by BAIC BJEV, the new energy vehicle arm of China's leading automaker BAIC Group.
