TAIPEI, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's average regular wage rose 1.86 percent year on year to 41,187 new Taiwan dollars (about 1,340 U.S. dollars) in February, slowing from an increase of 2.36 percent seen in January, latest labor data showed.

The slowdown also snapped a 14-month rising streak above 2 percent, according to the statistical authority, which attributed the slowdown to a higher comparing base last year.
For the first two months of this year, the average regular wage rose 2.09 percent from a year earlier to 41,442 new Taiwan dollars.

Taiwan's slowing economy has put the job market under pressure, particularly on the number of workforce employed and overtime work hours.

The number of workforce employed by the industrial and service sectors fell by 0.27 percent from January to 7.92 million at the end of February, according to the data.
