ZHENGZHOU, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Foreign trade of central China's Henan Province grew 5 percent year on year to 267.74 billion yuan (about 39.8 billion U.S. dollars) in the first four months of 2022.

Of the total, the province's exports gained 3.2 percent to about 164.6 billion yuan, while its imports rose 8 percent to approximately 103.2 billion yuan, said Zhengzhou customs on Thursday.

Notably, Henan's processing trade accounted for over 60 percent of its foreign trade during the period. About 52.3 percent of the province's export volume was contributed by exports of mobile phones.

Foreign-funded enterprises in the province contributed a relatively high trade value to the total, while the private sector and state-owned enterprises posted relatively robust growth, according to local customs authorities.

The province also saw its foreign trade with countries along the Belt and Road increase 22.7 percent to approximately 71 billion yuan from January to April.
