BEIJING, June 5 (Xinhua) -- There's a lot to be done to realize the true potential of Sino-Russian economic relations, but the dynamic remains positive, China Daily reported Wednesday.
Russia has vowed to "harmonize" the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative with its own economic integration project, the Eurasian Economic Union, and has offered its own vision of a Grand Eurasian Partnership, Dmitri Trenin, director of the Carnegie Moscow Center, was cited by the newspaper as saying.
The bilateral trade in goods between China and Russia stood at 33.172 billion U.S. dollars in the first four months this year, up 5.8 percent year on year, according to the General Administration of Customs.
In 2018, trade between China and Russia reached 107.06 billion U.S. dollars, up 27.1 percent year on year, data from the Ministry of Commerce showed.
Dmitri Trenin also assures that the two countries will see more cooperations in fields of energy, agricultural trade, military and defense industry.
Russia has been selling increasing volumes of oil to China, Dmitri Trenin said, adding that the country will sell China large volumes of natural gas, too.
