ACCRA, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to Ghana Wang Shiting and Ghana's Finance Minister Kenneth Ofori-Atta signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement Thursday.

China will provide a grant of 300 million Chinese yuan (42.6 million U.S. dollars) to Ghana to cover the expenses of the implementation of economic and technical cooperation projects between the two countries, said Wang.

"We have been hearing quite a number of good news of China-Ghana collaboration," Wang said.

In the recent months, the partners performed sod-cutting ceremonies for some Sino Hydro projects, in addition to the launching ceremony of polytechnics, technical and vocational training centers' upgrading projects in Ghana.

"We will contribute the Chinese strength and Chinese wisdom to the goal of 'Ghana Beyond Aid'," said the ambassador.

Part of the grant would support the ministries of education and foreign affairs, while a portion also goes to support the University of Health and Allied Sciences, among other technical and economic projects, said Ofori-Atta.
