KUNMING, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Yunnan Province, a main supplier of flowers, has launched a slew of favorable policies to facilitate flower exports to Thailand.
To ensure the freshness of the flowers, customs in Mengla County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, have set up a green channel to facilitate customs clearance.
According to the customs, measures such as declaration in advance and priority in inspection have also been adopted.
Flowers from Yunnan are exported to over 40 countries and regions, with an export value hitting 520 million yuan (about 76.6 million U.S. dollars) last year, ranking first nationwide.
The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, which entered into force for Thailand from Jan. 1, 2022, brings new opportunities for Yunnan flower export.
By applying for an RCEP certificate of origin from customs authorities in the provincial capital, Kunming, companies in Yunnan can export flowers to the Thai market with zero tariffs.
