NANCHANG, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- East China's Jiangxi Province saw its foreign trade grow by 46.9 percent year on year to 442.52 billion yuan (about 64 billion U.S. dollars) in the first eight months of this year, customs data showed.
The province's exports rose by 56.4 percent year on year to reach 342.9 billion yuan, while its imports increased 21.5 percent to 99.62 billion yuan in the period.
The province's trade with its top three trade partners, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the United States, and the European Union, increased by 89.3 percent, 27 percent, and 42 percent, respectively, in the first eight months.
During the period, Jiangxi's imports and exports to economies along the Belt and Road reached 151.8 billion yuan, up 80.8 percent year on year, accounting for 34.3 percent of the province's total foreign trade value. The trade volume between Jiangxi and other Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership members was 154.24 billion yuan, up 71.8 percent year on year.
Among the major export goods, labor-intensive and mechanical and electrical products registered fast growth rates.
