China's new energy enterprises have become a major driving force in the Belt and Road (B&R) energy cooperation. According to a recent report, China can provide new energy equipment, technology and solution for the countries along the B&R and play an important role in improving new energy supply along the B&R.
Zhu Gongshan, president of Golden Concord Group Limited (GCL), noted that the B&R Initiative is likely to bring a new growth point for the development of new energy. It is estimated that investment in this field in some countries along the B&R route will gain momentum in the future.
Experts pointed out that deepening the B&R new energy cooperation will help optimize the green energy supply structure between China and the countries along the B&R. The move will improve China’s industry chain in new energy, drive clean energy infrastructure construction along the route and inject vitality into global new energy development.
Hu Weiping, chairman of China Overseas Development Association, believed that on the one hand, China’s output of new energy products will see remarkable growth with the deep implementation of the B&R Initiative. Wind power and solar power are likely to embrace unprecedented investment opportunities. On the other hand, China’s new energy technology has undergone rapid development, with product quality and technology having reached or even exceeding the top level of the world.
Yan Junjie, dean of the Energy and Power Engineering College of Xi’an Jiaotong University, said that the countries along the B&R boast abundant renewable energy resources, which can facilitate new energy cooperation. China should continue to give a full display of its advantages in clean energy technology and product quality and promote the spread of green energy technology to the countries along the B&R.
