China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Administration of Taxation jointly release a catalogue of the fifth batch of new energy vehicles (NEVs) eligible for purchase tax exemption last Friday.
According to the document, 445 models of NEVs are newly included in the catalogue, in which 394 models are pure electric cars and 51 are plug-in hybrid power cars. Among the 394 pure electric cars, 20 are passenger cars, including BMW's electric car i3 1Z21. BMW i3 1Z21 is the first imported electric car to enjoy such purchase tax exemption in China.
Among the 51 plug-in hybrid power cars, six are passenger cars, including BMW's hybrid power car i3 1Z41. The policy will be effective until the end of 2017.
