China's automotive industry is expected to grow at a medium, low pace in the coming years, said Qu Guochun, a senior official with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) at an industrial forum.
While new elements such as "Internet Plus" and driverless technology are playing their part to reshape the industry, the auto enterprises are to face ever intensifying competition and increasing pressure to maintain their profitability, said Qu.
The annual growth of China's auto industry was about 24 percent between 2000 and 2010, and went down to about 7 percent between 2010 and 2014.
