China's electronics and IT manufacturing enterprises produced 1,046.54 million units of mobile phones in the first eight months of 2015, down 1.3 percent year on year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Meanwhile, the electronics and IT industry produced 178.53 million channels of mobile telecom base stations, down 2.1 percent year on year; and 12.65 million lines of stored program control exchanges, down 13.1 percent year on year.
The industry's telecom equipment business recorded an 11.2 percent year-on-year growth in sales value in the eight months, 0.2 percentage point lower than that for the first seven months of 2015 and three percentage points higher than the electronics and IT manufacturing industry's average level. In a breakdown, the export delivery value grew 3.2 percent year on year to 574.7 billion yuan, and the domestic sales value grew 18.1 percent year on year to 757.8 billion yuan.
