China's electronics and IT manufacturing industry produced 189.19 million units of microcomputers in the first eight months of 2015, declining 13.4 percent year on year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
In a breakdown, the output of laptop PCs went down 12.6 percent year on year, to 115.71 million units. Meanwhile, the industry produced 13.15 million units of digital cameras, down 16.8 percent year on year.
The industry's computer business generated 1,394.6 billion yuan of sales value in the period, rising 1.2 percent year on year. The growth rate was 1.8 percentage points lower than that for the same period of last year.
The contribution of computer business to total sales value of the whole electronics and IT manufacturing industry was 3.2 percent, 0.1 percentage point higher than that for the first seven months. The export delivery value of computer business was 1,009.3 billion yuan, down 3.1 percent year on year.
