Hainan Airlines will begin direct flights between Beijing and Tel Aviv in Israel on April 28 next year, the airline announced Tuesday. An Airbus A330, with 178 seats in economy class and 36 seats in business class, will fly to Tel Aviv three times a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
The route is expected to promote exchanges between business personnel and students and boost the tourism to Israel, according the airline. Tel Aviv, the second largest city in Israel, welcomed 34,000 Chinese tourists in 2014. The number is expected to reach 100,000 in 2017, according to official data.
