Market penetration of smart TVs has reached 80 percent in China while ultra high definition TV, which now has become standard configuration of large-sized TVs, saw market penetration rate at 24 percent, said Peng Jianfeng, deputy secretary-general of China Video Industry Association (CVIA), at an industrial research release.
China's TV output was around 98 million units in the first eight months of this year, up 4.5 percent year on year; while the retail was estimated at 45.7 million units, according to the CVIA official. Rural market has substituted urban market to be the target of both online and offline marketing channels. All TV sets are expected to become smart TVs in the near future, said Peng.
