China's NEV sales to take 20 pct share on auto market by 2025

Sales of new energy vehicles (NEV) will account for more than five percent of the total demands on China's automobile market by 2020 and about 20 percent by 2025, the Xinhua-run Economic Information Daily reported China.

The government has completed the roadmap for China's NEV industry for the next ten years. According to the roadmap, the NEV sales will take a larger part on the automobile market by 2030, and the sales volume is expected to exceed ten million units.

It is expected that China will build up a market-oriented NEV industrial system by 2020, while the self-developed brand NEV sales will exceed one million units and account for more than 70 percent of the total NEV sales in China.

By 2025, China will build an independent, controllable and complete NEV industrial chain that produces three million units of NEVs that achieved the international advanced level.

Meanwhile, the self-owned brands will take a more than 80 percent share on the Chinese NEV market. Besides, two Chinese complete vehicle enterprises will rank among the world's top ten by NEV sales, and their sales on the overseas NEV market will account for ten percent of their total sales.
