China's output of new energy vehicles soared nearly 800 percent year on year in October to 50,700 units, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said on Tuesday in a statement on its website.
The new energy vehicle output includes 21,700 pure electric passenger cars, up 850 percent year on year and 7,028 hybrid passenger cars, up 200 percent year on year.
Production of pure electric and hybrid commercial vehicles stood at 19,600 units and 2,389 units, respectively, in October, up 400 percent and 200 percent year on year.
China produced a total of 206,900 new energy vehicles from January to October, up 300 percent over the same period of last year, including 87,100 pure electric passenger cars, 45,500 hybrid passenger cars, 59,300 pure electric commercial vehicles and 15,000 hybrid commercial vehicles.
