China to speed up developing life services, ministry

China unveiled guidelines on speeding up developing life services on Wednesday, said Lin Nianxiu, vice head of China's top economic planner, the National Development and Reform Commission Friday.

According to Lin, the guidelines for boosting upgrading of consumption structure, nodded by the State Council, the Chinese cabinet, is a sister document for the 2014-debuted guidelines on accelerating the structural transformation of productive services to facilitate the economy.

The guidelines vowed to constantly expand life services, further improve life services infrastructure, optimize mechanisms on motivating development of rural areas through developing urban area or interactive development between urban and rural areas and significantly better consumption environment.

Under such goals, it came up with 65 detailed measures including deepening reform and open-up, improving quality standard system, enhancing guidance over fiscal, tax, and finance pricing and land prices, pushing ahead professional services development, and enriching legal and statistical system.

The file also selected 10 fields such as residents and family, health, old-age care, tourism, sport, culture, laws, wholesale and retails, catering, education and training to experiment consumption structure upgrading.

Besides, China also posted guidelines on fostering new consumption as well as boosting integration of medical care, health and old-age services to better their contributions to the economy.
