Sport car company Porsche is optimistic about the Chinese market and will expand its business in China's third- and fourth-tier cities "prudently", said Fang Zhiyong, president and CEO of the company's China branch.

Fang said Porsche registered a 48 percent rise in sales on the Chinese mainland market in the first half of this year. In June, the new-car sales exceeded 5,600 units, up 71 percent year on year.

He said Porsche has achieved stable and high-value sales growth on Chinese mainland, which makes the company optimistic about the market's future.

At present, Porsche has 90 sales dealerships in China, with networks covering Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Shenyang.

In the future, Porsche will extend its sales and service networks to cover third- and fourth-tier cities after prudently evaluating the business opportunities there, Fang added.
