Chinese consumers are able to apply for refund of travel tax on cars they returned to carmakers or car dealers for quality problem from the beginning of 2016, the Beijing Times reported.
According to the Regulation on Travel Tax Administration (Trial) issued by the State Administration of Taxation recently, local tax authorities will refund the tax that is paid from the month when the defective car is returned to the end of the tax year.
The new regulation also stipulates that the tax authorities, insurance agencies and tax collecting units shall refund travel taxes on the pure electric passenger cars and fuel-cell passenger cars that are exempted from travel tax according to relevant policies.
