The China Grain Reserves Corporation (Sinograin), the state grain stockpiler, totally bought nearly 175 million metric tons (tonnes) of grain in 2015.
In 2015, Sinograin beefed up efforts in expanding storage capacity and launched 187 projects with total capacity to reach 23.1 billion Jin (one Jin equals to 0.5 kg).
By the end of November, 2015, the amount of grain and oil managed by the stockpiler accounted for 75 percent of the country's total inventory.
The company purchased and sold 230 million tonnes of grain and oil and earned 162.8 billion yuan of operating revenue in 2015.
In 2016, it will accelerate storage capacity expansion to bring the total capacity to 100 million tonnes, said the company.
