Southwestern China's Chongqing municipality has signed a cooperation agreement with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Wednesday to take a lead in promoting the pilot implementation of smart cars and intelligent transportation based on broadband mobile Internet.
Under the agreement, the two sides will push forward the construction of the ecological industry, which takes broadband mobile Internet as a basis to integrate smart cars with intelligent transportation, and develop a batch of key technologies and related products to boost the development of relevant industries, including electronic information, broadband mobile communication, mobile internet and automobile manufacturing. At present, Chongqing is one of the largest automobile manufacturing bases in China.
