Xi'an opens first air route to Central Asia

The first non-stop flight between Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi province and Alma-Ata, capital of Kazakhstan, landed at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport on March 10, marking the first "Silk Road" route linking Xi'an with Central Asia. The new route will further deepen exchanges and cooperation between Shaanxi and Central Asia and at the same time, provide a support for the construction of a new starting point of the Silk Road Economic Belt in Shaanxi. Xi'an Xianyang International Airport has opened overall 36 international air routes connecting to 17 counties around the world.
