China Federation of Logistics and Purchase (CFLP) recently reported that the number of China's employees in the e-commerce logistics industry grew over 30 percent in 2016.
According to the report on e-commerce logistics operation, the average of the monthly index of e-commerce logistics employment stood at 136.9 points, reflecting that the scale of employees in the field expanded more than 30 percent in 2016. In the first half of 2016, the index stayed above 140 but it fell down to 119.1 in September, and then it rebounded to 140.7 and 143 in the last two months of the year, boosted by the shopping season at the year end when many e-commerce companies increased temporary staff.
In January 2017, although the Chinese New Year holiday resulted in labor shortage, the growth of the employed staff still reached 38.6 percent.
