The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) will implement its 2017/2018 Winter and Spring flight plan from October 29, 2017 to March 24, 2018. During the new aviation season, Chinese airlines will launch 95 new international routes to the countries along the Belt and Road (B&R), including those in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia and South Pacific.
Meanwhile, foreign airlines will launch 18 new B&R routes to countries including the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Kazakhstan.
The CAAC announced on October 27 that arrangements had been completed for domestic civil flights. The new aviation season involves 50 domestic airlines, 13 Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan airlines, as well as 143 foreign airlines, with a planned average volume of 14,460 flights per day, up about 5.7 percent compared to the 2016/2017 Winter and Spring Aviation Season.
The flights launched by domestic airlines, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan airlines and foreign airlines will account for 90.3 percent, 2.1 percent and 7.6 percent of the total flights, respectively.
