China recycles more scrapped motor vehicles in September

BEIJING, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- China recovered about 195,000 motor vehicles in September, up 8.1 percent from a year earlier, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

Of the total, about 164,000 were cars, up 6.8 percent year on year, and about 30,000 were motorcycles, up 15.2 percent year on year.

In terms of vehicle types, the number of passenger cars recovered was about 118,000, up 16 percent year on year, and the number of trailers recovered was about 6,000, up 122.5 percent year on year.

The number of trucks recovered was 36,000, down 18.6 percent year on year. The number of special operation vehicles was about 2,000, 18.9 percent lower year on year.

From January to September, the number of motor vehicles recovered nationwide was 1.65 million, up 21.5 percent over the same period last year, including 1.39 million cars, up 24.4 percent year on year, and about 262,000 motorcycles, up 8.3 percent year on year.
