BEIJING, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese alcohol makers raked in total revenue of 835.07 billion yuan (about 120.57 billion U.S. dollars) in 2019, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The reading was up 6.8 percent compared with the previous year, data from the ministry showed.
The profits of 2,129 alcohol enterprises with an annual business turnover of at least 20 million yuan grew 12.8 percent year on year to 161.17 billion yuan last year, the ministry said.
Major Chinese liquor makers saw their output reach 7.86 million kiloliters in 2019, down 0.8 percent year on year.
During the period, the output of major breweries rose 1.1 percent to 37.65 million kiloliters.
