Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the China Passenger Car Association, predicted at a recent symposium an 8-percent increase year on year in such sales.
Meanwhile, the wholesale and retail demand for commercial vehicles is estimated at 4.4 million units, said Mo Yao, an expert with the association.
In 2020, the total retail sales of passenger vehicles reached 19.29 million units, down 6.8 percent year on year, according to the association.
