Chinese auto brands increase share of domestic market: association

BEIJING, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese passenger car brands saw their share of the domestic market grow in June, according to data from an industry association.

Their sales of passenger cars accounted for 44.1 percent of all sales of such vehicles last month, up 10.5 percentage points year on year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

Their market share increased 2.8 percentage points from a month earlier, the association said.

In the first six months, Chinese brands' passenger car sales jumped 46.8 percent year on year and accounted for 42 percent of the total, a market share rise of 5.6 percentage points from a year earlier.
