China should intensify technological cooperation with the United States in the oil and gas industry, said Zhang Yuqing, deputy director with the National Energy Administration.
Speaking at a recent industry meeting, Zhang said the two countries also need expand pragmatic cooperation on shale gas and others.
China aims to have 30 billion cubic meters of shale gas production capacity by 2020.
