Shanxi Natural Gas Co., Ltd., dominant town gas operator in central China's Shanxi province, purchased 10 million cubic meters of natural gas from PetroChina North China Sales Company via a spot market in Shanghai.
Shanxi Natural Gas Co., Ltd. would pay 2.61 yuan per cubic meter for the deal, according to Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange (SHPGX), a platform to prompt oil and gas reform and enhance China's gas pricing power.
Earlier, state-owned town gas operators from Shanghai, Beijing and other areas also place orders through SHPGX. SHPGX, which went into trial operation on July 1, 2015, had registered 1.37 billion cubic meters of pipeline natural gas and 59,000 tonnes of LNG traded by October 30.
