Chinese top energy authority the National Energy Administration (NEA) would carry out a special inspection on upgrading product oil quality and prevention and treatment of environmental protection, said a release by the NEA on Friday.
The NEA recently held a meeting in south China's Guangdong province to launch the inspection work. Priority would be placed on refineries in east China and the inspection work is scheduled to conclude in January 2016.
The NEA would examine drafting, approval and implementation of upgrading plans, supply and demand of gasoline and demand in line with Guo-V discharge standards, out-phasing of outdated refining facilities, emission of main pollutants as well as implementation of supportive policies.
China plans to supply Guo-V gasoline for vehicles in the whole area of 11 provinces and municipalities in east China starting from January 2016 rather than key cities in the area.
The country would start to supply Guo-V gasoline and diesel for vehicles across the country in January 2017 rather than January of 2018.
