China's first peak-shaving LNG plant put into operation in NW Shaanxi

Yangling liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant, China's first large LNG plant for the purpose of peaking-shaving and emergency supply, came on stream on Sunday, according to a report by Shaanxi Daily.

Involving an investment of 1.519 billion yuan, the plant is designed to process 2 million cubic meters of natural gas per day and has a daily vaporization capacity of 3 million cubic meters. The plant also has 60,000 cubic meters of LNG storage capacity.

The plant will be able to ensure Shaanxi's natural gas supply for 84 hours during the low peak and 30 hours during the high peak.
