Koppers, the world largest coal tar producers, lately announced operation of its 300,000-tonne coal tar integration project in Pizhou, Jiangsu province.
The project involves total investment of 3 billion yuan with registered capital of more than 100 million US dollars.
Designed in a circular development mode, coal tar output of the project would be used by Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Group, world's second largest steel company, to produce needle coke and druss.
Meanwhile, the exhaust gas of the project would be used to generate electricity.
