If half of China's forestry waste is developed into biomass energy, it may substitute 65 million tonnes of petroleum, Beijing Forestry University's professor Zheng Xiaoxian said on Thursday.
Statistics show that China's forestry waste totals about 240 million tonnes every year and if 50 percent of this forestry waste was developed into biomass energy each year, it equals to 65 million tonnes of petroleum output annually.
