China Oct. product oil consumption at 24.46 mln t, up 0.8 pct on yr

China recorded 24.46 million tonnes of production oil consumption in October with 0.8 percent of year-on-year growth, said a release by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on Monday.

In particular, gasoline consumption expanded 5.4 percent while diesel consumption dipped 3.2 percent. Chinese crude oil output and throughput stood at 17.94 million tonnes and 41.28 million tonnes in October rising 0.3 percent and 3.1 percent year on year, respectively.

China produced 25.54 million tonnes of product oil in the month up 1.8 percent year on year. By the end of October, product oil stocks were 1.34 million tonnes less from a month ago but 770,000 tonnes higher than the same time of 2014.

In Jan.-Oct., China generated 177.67 million tonnes of crude oil and 249.21 million tonnes of product oil, up 2.3 percent and 4.4 percent year on year, respectively. Crude throughput expanded 3.2 percent to 396.1 million tonnes in the month. China consumed 231.1 million tonnes of product oil in Jan.-Oct. increasing 2.2 percent year on year.Particularly, gasoline consumption grew 8.5 percent while diesel consumption shrank 2.8 percent year on year.
