China's national coal supply and demand is estimated to decline around 2 percent in 2016, and coal price will still hover at a relatively low level, Shanghai Securities News quoted Xu Liang, deputy secretary general with coal construction society of China National Coal Association (CNCA), as saying on Monday.
According to Xu, China might see a basic balance of coal demand and supply, if the country can maintain its coal production within 3.5-3.6 billion tones until 2018.
Data from the CNCA shows that by the end of 2015, social coal stocks in China had been staying above 300 million tonnes for 48 consecutive months.
