North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has imported 11.87 million tonnes of coal during the first seven months, up 44 percent year on year, according to the customs of the region's capital city Hohhot.
The coal imports valued totally 2.4 billion yuan, up 18.8 percent on year, with price averaging at 202.6 yuan per tonne, down 17.2 percent compared with same period of 2015.
Particularly, private enterprises imported 11.847 million tonnes of coal during the period, taking up 99.8 percent of the total imports and rose 79.8 percent year on year.
Downstream demand rose amid the country's capacity cut and the price of high quality coking coal of Inner Mongolia has been stabilizing at 470 yuan/tonne due to recovery of domestic coking coal market, experts say.
