The world's largest oil and gas trade show, the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), kicked off in the U.S. energy capital of Houston on Monday with heavy presence of Chinese companies.
Leading Chinese companies such as China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC), China National Petroleum Corp. and some local companies participated the event.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of OTC. At the opening ceremony, distinguished guests, including Halliburton President and CEO Jeff Miller, Total Chairman and CEO Patrick Pouyanne and Project and Technology Director of Royal Dutch Shell Harry Brekelmans, gave their speeches, reflecting on past successes and offering their insights on the industry's future.
"This year marks the 50th edition of OTC and we want attendees to walk away with a sense of the industry's and of OTC's legacy, of where we came from, of what we're doing in the present and where we're going in the future," said OTC Chairman Wafik Beydoun.
During the four-day event, business leaders from around the world will discuss the transformation of oil industry, the creativity of new technology and the evolution of the industry in the next 50 years.
Founded in 1969, OTC, the largest event in the world for the oil and gas industry, is where energy professionals meet to exchange ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge for offshore resources and environmental matters.
