China energy production grows steadily

BEIJING, March 18 (Xinhua) -- China's energy production maintained stable growth during the first two months of the year, the National Bureau of Statistics said Monday.

Output of liquified petroleum gas rose 7.1 percent year-on-year to 6.43 million tonnes, while gasoline production increased 5.3 percent to 23.8 million tonnes.

Fuel output added 2 percent to reach 3.55 million tonnes during Jan.-Feb., and kerosene production climbed 6.2 percent to 7.96 million tonnes.

However, China saw a fall in diesel output, which decreased to 27.65 million tonnes.

Monday's data also showed that production of lead and copper reached 923,000 tonnes and 1.34 million tonnes, up 32.6 percent and 6.3 percent, respectively.
