Shanghai Pudong Development Bank (SPD Bank; 600000.SH)) has announced the establishment of a special division, named Ocean Economy Financial Service Center (Zhoushan) to facilitate the development of ocean economy.
In the ocean economy financial sector, the bank will focus on exploration of ocean economy and ocean space utilization, provide whole industrial chain services, and take the Bohai Sea region, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta as main target markets.
Up to now 24.4 billion yuan has been loaned by SPD Bank's Zhoushan Branch to local enterprises in industries like port logistics, portside, distant fishery and ocean tourism. Ji Guangheng, vice-president of SPD Bank revealed that the bank would increase branches in Fujian and Guangdong in the future.
