China UnionPay announced Thursday that its rural interbank withdrawal service has covered 80 percent of villages in China, and farmers with China UnionPay cards could enjoy interbank withdrawal and balance enquiry service in 900,000 terminals.
Under the arrangement of People's Bank of China, China UnionPay and other institutions jointly launched the pilot work of rural interbank withdrawal service in 2011. 5.2 billion yuan has been withdrawn from the rural interbank withdrawal service terminals during the first eight months, 1.7 times as much as the same period of last year.
Yunnan, Henan, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Qinghai and Sichuan ranked the top in terms of transaction value.
The figure in Ninxia, Chongqing, Shaanxi and Liaoning jumped over 300 percent respectively.
