Banks had offered the lowest mortgage rate to first-home buyers in August, reported Tianjin Daily, citing the latest report of rong360.com, a financing information website.
According to the report, the average mortgage rate for first-home buyers was 5.15 percent in the month, hitting record low.
Some 298 Banks offered mortgage rate discounts to first-home buyers in August, much more the number of 28 in last August.
The average mortgage rate for first-home buyers in Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai in the month was 4.87 percent, 4.88 percent and 4.89 percent, respectively.
