China's insurance industry business scale is expected to surpass Britain to become the world's third largest by the end of this year, said Liu Qi, secretary general of the Insurance Association of China.
China has emerged as an important insurance market in the world, said Liu at a forum on insurance industry.
He said China's insurance industry has shown strong growth in both premium and investment returns in the first half of 2015.
The industry's net income rose 67 percent to 84.2 billion yuan in the time period.
