Peking University Internet Finance Development Index, the first of its kind in China, was released on Sunday.
The index soared to 316.3 by the end of September 2015, 3.2 times as much as the figure in January 2014. And the indexes for seven provincial regions like Shanghai, Beijing, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Fujian and Tianjin, are much higher than other regions, which reflects their leading positions in Internet finance development sector.
The sub-indexes of Internet payment and Internet money fund were 183.1 and 185.9 by the end of September 2015, while the sub-indexes of Internet insurance and Internet investment and financing leaped to 312.2 and 366.3. The index was jointly compiled by Internet Finance Research Center of Peking University, Shanghai Finance Institute and Ant Financial.
