China highway freight price index has risen for six weeks in a row to end at 1,097.5 points by Friday, up 1.9 percent from last week, according to China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP). During October 12-16, the CFLP full-truck-load freight price index jumped 3.2 percent from the week prior to 1,041.4 points, up for the first time 1.5 percent since the year start.

CFLP less-than-truck-load freight price index for light trucks inched up 0.1 percent from last week to 1,170.1 points. CFLP less-than-truck-load freight price index for heavy trucks also added 0.1 percent from last week and 7.3 percent from the beginning of this year.

By regions, highway freight price indexes for northeast China, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province rebounded more than 1.4 percent on week, more sharply than those for other areas such as the coastal regions in east China and the Pearl River Delta whose highway transport cost indices crept up less than one percent from last week.

Since mid October, logistics demands widely recovered in China, with the highway transport cost also reported of stable recovery, said analysts, forecasting that highway freight price index was likely to continue to step up in next two weeks.
